Frequently Asked Questions

All new, first-year on-campus students are required to be on a meal plan. However, any SCSU student or faculty can purchase a meal plan.

Meal swipes can be used in Garvey Commons. The number of meals included with your plan indicates how many swipes/entries you get in Garvey Commons per semester. There is no restriction regarding when meals can be used or how many meals can be used in a day.

Husky Bucks are a very popular way to make their food dollars go farther. Husky Bucks turns your school ID into a debit card for use at any of our dining locations. Whenever you make a purchase, the amount is subtracted from the account balance. As an extra benefit, purchases with Husky Bucks are not subject to sales tax.

Husky Bucks roll over from fall to spring semester, and any unused dollars expire at the end of the spring semester.

The Unlimited Dining Plan allows you to visit Garvey Commons as many times as you like during normal operational hours. The Semester Block Plan allows you to visit Garvey Commons limited to the number of meals you selected. Each entry will count as one meal. Block plans can use any meal swipes to treat friends and/or family who don't have a meal plan to dine with you.

Requests for meal plan changes can be made through Resident Life.
